Motherhood Sessions - San Diego
I will start off by saying that my little ones are not so little any longer. They are 10 and 12, and although I love the older stage that they are in now I have to admit that I sometimes miss that they were once tiny. Which is why I love being able to offer these gorgeous Motherhood Sessions in my Carlsbad studio. I will be releasing dates for these Limited Edition sessions coming up in a few months. I provide the outfits/gowns and outfits for babies up to one year old. These nursing / breastfeeding sessions are best for babies under a year. The little ones tend to be distracted as they get older. Both of these sweet little ones were 8 months old. Something about the all ivory set and babies bonding over breastfeeding with mom, is something that lasts for just a short time. What an amazing time to capture through portraits!

I loved working with smiley little London for her session. She came to me at three months old, and I love that we were able to get a nice selection of both awake and sleepy portraits. I'm so happy for this beautiful family! There is a gorgeous album on the way to the family soon!
Newborn Safety Week
This week is Newborn Safety Week, in our newborn photography circles. I wanted to share with my clients the measures that I take to make sure your baby is safe in the studio. 90% of the poses that I do in the studio are very safe with no risk involved; beanbag shots, and shots of baby in basket laying down surrounded by fluffy and pretty textures. I do like to take bucket shots, and those to require extra safety steps. I won't put baby in this pose, unless his or her arms will easily get into position. I can tell when they will, and when they won't. And if I'm not sure, I might attempt, but I will never let go of baby until I'm certain he or she is not going to move. In this particular pose, I prefer to have a parent "point" with a finger, and support baby's head. I would rather edit out a hand than have baby startle and have an issue with safety. So, there you have it - a before and after in one of my favorite baskets/props.

I loved using these gorgeous new items that I brought into the studio for sweet little Amilya's session. I love my new pettiskirt vendor, Mille Feuille. I have big girl sizes in several colors also! For Amilya's session I used their pettiskirt bloomers, baby 1920’s crown headband and metallic pink ballet slippers! Just darling...

Darling little 9 day old Brayden came in for his newborn session, and he brought his "big brother" with him! How adorable are these two?! I think I need a West Highland Terrier... this guy was so well behaved! And Brayden was too of course.. he just loved being swaddled up in my wraps. More to come soon!
